Pennywise has nothing on Art the Clown! If you are looking for an homage to classic 80’s slasher films, you’ve found the right one. This gem was recommended by a fellow horror enthusiast on Facebook. I decided this film would be included in my Halloween movie list that day. Halloween for me means watching anything horror related for the entire day. Okay Okay, let’s be real, Halloween is 365, 24/7–lol. There isn’t a day that goes by that a horror movie is not on, thank you Starz Suspense. Do you have Netflix? If you do, you’re in luck. I introduce to you——- Terrifier.
The movie starts with a mutilated woman being interviewed about her horrific ordeal and survival with Art the Clown. The woman states that she saw Art the Clown die that night. We are then transported to the lair of Art the Clown and he is very much alive. He destroys the television on which he is watching the interview, grabs his bag of assorted weapons and heads out to start the massacre of Miles County.
TARA AND DAWN
Tara and Dawn, just came from a Halloween party and realize that they both are in no condition to drive and decide to go eat at their favorite pizzeria. Art the Clown comes in, sits down and stares at Tara, which gives her an uneasy feeling. Mayhem ensues once the owner of the Pizzeria decides to kick Art out of his establishment. Tara notices Dawn’s car tire is flat and immediately believes the clown is responsible. Dawn, thinking Tara is paranoid, asks Tara to call her sister to pick them up.
The Apartment Building
Tara enters an apartment building under decontamination to use the bathroom leaving Dawn alone. While waiting on Tara, Dawn hears a bulletin report on the brutal murders that happened at the pizzeria. Dawn’s car door opens and she begins to explain what she just heard, but it’s not Tara. Tara begins to wander around the apartment building and stumbles upon a woman with a “daughter” named Emily. The woman was excited that there was a new neighbor she could do laundry with. Tara tells the woman that she needs to find the landlord to pay rent and continues to wander the building. She doesn’t realize Art is now in the building and on the hunt.
The Calvary
Tara’s sister Vickie finally arrives to pick them up, but they can’t be located. Art takes Tara’s cell phone and text Vickie to go to the back of the building. Vickie encounters Art the Clown and the cat and mouse chase begins and comes to a twisted end.
This movie has plenty of bloody, gory, horrid, repugnant killings that you would crave from the old 80’s slasher films. I rate this a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
